🎩 Where It All Began – The Mesmerist
My journey into magic entertainment in Brighton began at The Mesmerist, a lively venue in the heart of the city. I was just 17 years old, walking between tables, nervously asking if I could show people some magic. It was a training ground like no other – one moment you’re performing to a birthday group, the next a couple on a quiet date night. The reactions, laughter and gasps gave me the confidence to become a full-time professional Brighton magician.
🌊 Magic on the Brighton Palace Pier
From bar magic to oceanfront events, one of the most memorable places I’ve performed is the Brighton Palace Pier. Whether it’s a wedding overlooking the sea, a corporate function, or a lively birthday party, the setting is always stunning. There’s something special about performing magic with the ocean as your backdrop – it adds to the sense of wonder and possibility.
🕯️ Gothic and Intimate – The Black Dove

With its spooky, candle-lit, gothic atmosphere, it’s one of my all-time favourite spots for smaller, immersive shows. In spaces like these, close-up magic feels even more powerful. Every flick of the wrist, every mind-reading moment becomes more intense and personal.
🛣️ Magic on the Streets of Brighton
Brighton’s magic isn’t just found indoors. Over the years, I’ve performed for strangers on the street, creating impromptu moments of awe. One standout memory is meeting a burger stand owner – a lovely lady who happily took part in a trick. I had her choose and shuffle a card. When I got it wrong, she laughed. But as she held the card’s corner between her fingers, it visibly changed into the exact card she was thinking of. Her stunned reaction is still one of my favourites. Watch the video here.
🎶 The Wick Inn – A Psychic Musical Connection
In 2014, I was at The Wick Inn, meeting a new friend who brought her boyfriend along. I had never met him or even heard of him before. He asked to see some magic, so I gave him a detailed reading. I told him he was a musician. Then, I guessed his instrument. Then – unbelievably – I named his band. His jaw hit the floor. You can see that unforgettable moment here.
🧸 A Magical Journey Through Brighton Toy Museum
During the Brighton Fringe Festival in 2018, I teamed up with fellow magicians Rooster Robertson and Leon Simmonds for a unique triple act inside Brighton Toy Museum. Guests moved from one magician to another, exploring magic and memories. At the show’s finale, a spectator chose a toy from among hundreds. Sitting in full view the entire time was a box – inside it was a teddy bear matching their choice exactly, complete with their name on its ear. That’s Brighton magic at its best.
